HI everyone.
Quick background...we've been fostering a female cat who's 2 1/2yrs, Jasmine. I have a cat who I've adopted since he was a kitten, Simba. He'll be 5yrs this July. We've had Jasmine for a couple weeks now, the first week we kept them separated so Jasmine can get adjusted. Once they met, Simba was hesitant at first but got over it within a couple days. They get along rather well.
We have two litterboxes, one in the bedroom (which was Jasmine's safe room) and Simba's is near the front entry. We live in a 1 bedroom condo. What we noticed is that jasmine tends to use the litterbox in the middle of the night, but when she does go, she tends to revisit the litterbox a few times as if making sure she has everything covered. This will go on for 30-40minutes. I don't mind a very tidy cat but being her litterbox is in our bedroom and my wife is a light sleeper, it doesn't make for a good combination. Has any experienced this before?
Is it too soon to relocate her litterbox near Simba's, so that it'll help my wife not hearing Jasmine 'doing her thing' in there? I would also like to add that I noticed that Simba uses Jasmine's litterobx in addition to his own but so far Jasmine doesn't seem to mind and continues to do her own business in there also.
Any advice/input would be helpful...thanks!
