I'm no expert but I'm positive the doctor told me we will find out for sure if she has FIP or not, and that the lab already has the tissue, no blood to be drawn or anything.

Yes, they put her on IV antibiotics at the hospital, and I brought home banana-flavored ones I've been giving her every 12 hours. She didn't fight me before but now she tries to wriggle away when I give them to her.

She is very good, chased the laser light, ate catnip and licked up one of her toys. Her appetite and poop are good. She threw up a little food during the night but had two little hairballs, and that's been the only time. I combed her today but until now she's been grooming herself, too.

No, the doctor does not know how long it's going to take. She checked on the price for me, though.

Hope she continues to get better and that it is only a bacterial infection for lher continuing improvement in health.

Any test results yet? Hope Lily is still feeling like her old self.

Lily is doing great - last night she was leaping into the air and tearing around the house at full speed while I was playing with her.

I called the animal hospital and they do not have the FIP test results yet (it's been 1 1/2 weeks!). They said it would be another week, so I really hope they didn't "forget" to order the test (and that the lab still has the tissue samples)!

Lily had her post-op with the new vet, and she (vet) said she seriously doubts it's FIP, since Lily is recovering so well.

When I get the results, I will start a new thread with recovery pics!

Thanks again, everyone, I am convinced that your good thoughts, vibes, and prayers played a huge part in Lily still being with us today!

I have to agree - as she's doing so well, I doubt it's FIP, but still - as they have (!!) the tissue sample, best to be sure!
