I didn't really think there was much of a problem at first. I thought maybe he wasn't very clean and he was just leaving something behind on my bed when he sat or lied next to me at night. So I put a towel down for him to lie/sit on instead.
On a whim I decided to google it, and some people mentioning the problem on the internet are talking about blood and all manner of terrifying things.
He's had his shots and everything. I took him to the vet a couple of months ago to get an antibiotic shot. He was having blood in his urine. That seemed to clear up after the shot.
based on other threads, it sounds relevant to say that I smelt that one. IT is not a new spot, but it did have an odor relative to the area around it. perhaps musky like.
One night he "skunked" my friend who was trying to force him to sit with her. I don't know if that is the right word for it but it was foul. I was dry heaving. I was an inch away from vomiting. That was horrid. She learned her lesson.
She later commented that Vets do it to cats on purpose, and that maybe he didn't do it on purpose but that perhaps she stimulated "draining".
what do you all think?

all of these problems say that their is pain involved. He doesn't seem bothered... He poops without issue (I think. Though in all fairness I haven't seen a lot of cats poop
I never see him have issue urinating.
I don't think he is ever in pain. He is always relaxed unless he wants something or I am bothering him (like scooping him up for a hug)
I am going to make sure I get a good sniff of the next new spot, but let's assume it does have a musky smell... what would we think of that. and let's assume it is not a musky smelling spot, what would we think of that.
