Yes. But only coins or a dollar bill. The largest denomination that I have found that I did not turn in was a $10 bill in a nearly empty public parking lot.

I did find a purse with over $700.00 in it that I turned in to lost and found at the city transit and it was returned to the rightful owner.

Oh goodness no. I don't stay many other places - never really have - and when I am there, well what's theirs is theirs. The worst I've done is tried to empty all the bathroom cupboards looking for the washing powder in my MILs house. (We were house sitting for three weeks) Turns out she'd moved it to the kitchen!
