I've been meaning to post an update, and got a nudge to post about her
Living with a young adult rescue really is a journey of discovery.
Frankie has worked SO hard to teach me what was obviously once her routine before she was on her own for a year (our estimate). She wants to go to bed by 11 pm, Midnight at the latest - and tells me so with meows, heading to the door, and general encouragement for me to get up and take her to the bedroom NOW--meroww!
She would really, really like it if I gave her wet food in the morning, first thing please. In that, she's disappointed, I'm afraid to say.
She has been engaged in a silent war with Alix and Ophelia...having taken over Alix's spot at my feet, another night, she will take Ophelias spot next to my pillow! The girls have tried to be friendly (and when no one is watching, so Frankie thinks) Frankie has actually giving Alix a little face wash, but for the most part, stays a bit distant.
I did however today, see the power of confidence. Alix had wandered behind my woodstove and was coming out around on the cobblestone platform, when she encountered Frankie sitting there...staring. Frankie raised a paw...Alix backed back behind the stove! I doubt Frankie has even touched Alix with that paw, if she had, Alix would realize Frankie came to us declawed and can't hurt her!
Frankie has tricks...I swear she was raised with a poodle or someother little dog that liked to dance. She will wait until she sees us watching, do a flop, roll onto her back and stretch both front legs out and kind of wave with her paws. It is hysterical, and she will do it again, and again, and again.
She gives kisses, stands up to put her paws on my leg when I'm paying too much attention to the computer instead of her, and she has a voice that she's not afraid to use
She is incredibly bright. It took Alix weeks to figure out how to open the spring door in our kitchen. It took Frankie just one day.
and that is an update on Miss Frankie, who is now a very special member of our family.
