Over the past 6 months or so, my about to be 14 year old cat Copper has been throwing up her food. It started out very rarely, and I just discounted it as the occasional upset tummy or whatnot. Over the past month or two, Copper's been throwing up food more often (maybe once every two weeks?).
I have her on free choice Innova Evo, and have had for over a year, and she's doing wonderfully on it. When she throws up, it's always either food or bile, never a hairball (she doesn't think she has to lick herself anymore
).
One of the strange things i've noticed is the quantity of food she throws up. All her life Copper's been the kind of cat that goes and eats one or two pebbles of food at a time and that's it. I've never seen her sit down and eat much more than that. However, when she throws up, she usually throws up about 15 pieces of food or so. All seem equally digested so I have to assume that she sat down and ate that much at once then barfed it back up.
Any ideas about this, or what to do?
