My 8-month old cat has started exhibiting some concerning behaviors regarding her eating habits just in the last week.
She is on a completely raw and canned diet, but sometimes I give treats or supplemental chews that are a bit harder than her regular food. In the past week, I've noticed that not only is she not finishing her food (which is completely abnormal, usually she scarfs it all down) but she seems to have trouble with the treats and chews. It looks as though she is having trouble picking them up into her mouth, and after a few tries she just gives up altogether. She has never had trouble eating these treats or chews before.
Is it possible my kitty has a dental issue? How can I check at home to see if there is a problem with her teeth/gums?
