I have a 6 years old female domestic medium hair cat. When she was young, she used to have a ferret as companion. Later, I gave the ferret away, and moved to another country with my cat. She has been lonely for several years already, so I wanted to give her a new companion.
So recently I got a 2 month old male scottish fold. I separated at first, and introduced them gradually. From the start, I could see that the kitty wanted to get close to the older cat, following her to everywhere, and imitating on what she does. However, the older cat doesn't like the kitty very much, specially because he likes to play rough and bite her. Sometime he chases her, and don't go away eventhough the older cat would hiss and slap him. Usually it would lead to a short fight, ending with the female going away.
My female cat is very sweet. She would even let the kitty eat from her bow. I am just afraid that the kitty would become even more agressive when he gets older..... I know that he just want to play, and maybe biting is how kitten play.... but is there a way to let him know that the female doesn't like playing rough???
By the way, the female is already spayed. I am playing to have the male neutered when he get older enough... Currently, he is 4 month old.
