I used to have a cat named Calypso...thought he was a girl, and we've got an ongoing mythology theme with all our cats' names.

If he has lots of little patches, you could always name him Kibbles

How about Calico Boy? That way, no one will be able to call him a her.

I found this interesting tidbit about male calicos:

Can a calico cat ever be male? Yes, in rare instances. In this situation, the cat has two X chromosomes and one Y chromosome (XXY). Cats with this chromosomal configuration are usually sterile (not able to breed). This is similar to a condition in humans called Klinefelter's syndrome, or XXY Syndrome.

So, maybe he doesn't need to be neutered, but I would really check with a vet.

And what a pretty little calico she is, too.

I was such a heartbroken little girl.
Calicos are SO beautiful! And have some of the best personalities. . I used to have one. . Katrina. . She was my buddy. For a long time, I never let her go outside, cause we lived in the "woods". But, she was just so curious, So I started to let her out- with supervision. Well, someone decided Katrina could go out on her own, and she never came back ( I think a coyote got a hold of her

I think you should at least wait til you have him in your arms to name him. There may be some part of his personality that will inspire what he should be named

How about Kismet? It means destiny. I think it's sort of poetic. I also like Kai.

Kai has always been one of my favorite names. It is an old Celtic name that means something like "keeper of the keys." I've been tempted to name a little boy that, if I ever had one. It's such a cute name!

Most of the other names that have been suggested (including Kismet, although it's so cute) make me think of girls.

Here are a few more:

Kade
Kaden
Kael
Kaleb
Keagan
Keane
Kendrick
Kennedy
Keoki
Kerrigan
Kimball
Kingsley
Kingston
Kirby
Kirk
Knox
Kobe
Kole
Korbyn
Kyle or Kyler

Okay, I am going on for too long. Anyway, you have a lot of options!

** Update **

the name we decided on
Not sure of how we are gonna spell it yet but his name is Kye (rhymes with guy)

Well it turns out yep the calico was a little girl. And they decided they wanted to keep her. She was a pretty little thing.

So we took her brother instead who is a tabby, with a white belly and little white paws, such big ears and eyes. He is such a cutey!!

He is a little lover too. Loves to sleep with us and snuggle awww. But also is super kitten crazy running all over the house lol.

Luckily our other cats are coming around and his new brother has had lots of fun playing with him lol

Ofcourse pics! He has the cutest little white diamond on his forehead! you can see it really well in the dark pics.

Might you go for literary names?

Pangor Bahn was the cat in the Irish Hermit Songs, but he was white.

Hodge was Dr. Ben Johnsons cat, who liked oysters; Johnson would go to the market for them himself, as he didn't want to inconvenience the servants.

Minnaloushe was the cat in a poem by (I think) WB Yeats.

Dinah was Alice's cat in Lewis Carroll.

Jeoffery was Kit Smart's cat in "Rejoice in the Lamb":

For I will consider my Cat Jeoffry.
For he is the servant of the Living God duly and daily serving him.
For at the first glance of the glory of God in the East he worships in his Way.
For this is done by wreathing his body seven times round with elegant quickness.
For then he leaps up to catch the musk, which is the blessing of God upon his prayer...
For when his day's work is done his business more properly begins.
For he keeps the Lord's watch in the night against the adversary.
For he counteracts the Devil, who is death, by brisking about the life...
For he is the cleanest in the use of his forepaws of any quadruped.
For the dexterity of his defence is an instance of the love of God to him exceedingly.
For he is the quickest to his mark of any creature.
For he is tenacious of his point.
For he is a mixture of gravity and waggery.
For he knows that God is his Saviour.
For there is nothing sweeter than his peace when at rest.
For there is nothing brisker than his life when in motion....
For God has blessed him in the variety of his movements.
For, tho he cannot fly, he is an excellent clamberer.
For his motions upon the face of the earth are more than any other quadrupede.
For he can tread to all the measures upon the musick
For he can swim for life.
For he can creep.
