Ok does anyone else have a cat who farts lol? I mean when she farts it stinks REALLY bad. Is that normal? She does it ALOT as well.
My dog was on Nutro before and she hated it, she would only eat once a day, we even put chicken broth on it and she wouldn't eat it. She LOVES the science diet lamb and rice, so that's what I am feeding her because she likes it. She isn't itchy on it, and she has healthy coat and skin. So I could really care less about the grains. Thanks for the info, but I didn't ask for food advice, and don't plan on switching my dog to something she doesn't like.Lamb is the least digestable of the top three meats... plus if you read you are giving sorugum(sp) ( I call this the sugar grain) barley and corn... it is too grain heavy IMHO... If you are using lamb for possible allergies try Nutros since it is truelly only lamb and rice

I am glad she is doing well... it is likely that she would do good on any food... I have seen vast improvementwith "higher" quality foods ...Originally Posted by Plebayo
I really don't give a rip whether you feel the food I feed my animals isn't good enough. She has a nice healthy sheen to her coat, her skin isn't flakey or oily and we got her senior panel back and everything is fine. She isn't a risk for cushings, and her levels are all normal.
I understand you are trying to help the situation, but the food I feed her is fine. As it were we may actually be switching to Addicton, because my cat has so many allergy issues. There is no actual proof that feeding my dog Nutro is going to make her live longer, or healthier. I know dogs who lived to be 18 and 19 on the $5 farm food you can get at the feed store.
Same here. No more gas after the Iams switchOriginally Posted by Luvmysphynx
When I first brought Monte home, he really let them rip!!!
The breeder was feeding him Iams, so that is what we were feeding him. My vet said that the food was probably too rich for him. We switched foods and the gas is gone!
shes an indoor kitty and she has no fleas..Originally Posted by MikeAnderson
If it's an outdoor cat, or there is any sign of fleas, you may also have a tapeworm problem. I had a cat once who got tapeworms periodically, and the smelly gas was always the tipoff. Fleas are a vector for tapeworms, so if you've got fleas, it's a very good possibility.
Wow! I think that Sharkey was just giving STLGRL advice regarding the gas problem her kitty is having, as far as the advice to eat better brands of food. I don't think she is attacking your preferred feed on a personal level.Originally Posted by Plebayo

I'm sorry if I sounded snappy, but it really gets on my nerves saying basically that what i am feeding is horrible. Because it's not. Although I am giving into the trend, holistic foods and such that are similar are alot like the natural trimming thing going around in the horse world. Everyone screams "Horses must be barefoot" currently, and yeah, shoes aren't GREAT, but some horses need them, no matter what. Because we are breeding horses with bad feet, and they can't hold shoes, right away the shoes are the problem, not the improper breeding. One of the nice things about this site is being able to give and get advice from other cat lovers, but just like any other advice take what you need and leave the rest.
I didnt take it as snappy ... all have there own opionions .. I just deliver mine and any info I canOriginally Posted by Plebayo

I'm sorry if I was out of line. I just had to defend Science Diet, even if it isn't the best, it's not the worste ever.
