I am living with two adult cats and two 14 week old kittens. All use the litter box consistently but the kittens also urinate in our bed almost every night and only when I am in it. This has been happening for several weeks. Because I am in a wheelchair, it is impossible for me to exclude them from the bedroom. They are much faster than I am. The laundry chores are wearing me out. How can I stop this behavior?

There are several things you can try.

1) Have you cleaned your bedding/the bed with an enzymatic cleaner? You may be removing the urine stains, but they can still smell it & pee there again.
2) Put a litterbox in your bedroom.
3) Put Cat Attract litter in the boxes, or in this case, Kitten Attract.

Hi WCL,
#1. No but they do not seem to return to the same spot on the bed each time. Rather, they usually choose a spot near where I'm sleeping. (Small person, large bed.)

#2. Litter box is in the bathroom about 10 feet from the bed.

#3. They do use the litter box with no problems EXCEPT when I'm in the bed.

By the way, I use silica gel litter and it's cleaned twice a day. There is no conflict between cats that I can detect. One adult is mom and the other is aunt.
