i have a new litter of 6 that I am fostering. I noticed a few of the kittens will pant. 15-20 seconds at a time. It’s not overly warm in their room, 68-70 degrees. They are all gaining weight and seem content. Is this something to worry about?

It’s probably not anything to worry over as long as they are not directly on a heating pad. Little kitten bodies are working hard to suckle, digest, and keep warm. I’ve heard of this before and things were fine.

Are they all nursing well and gaining weight daily?

Yes they are doing great. I have weighed them every few days and they are all gaining. I spoke to my vet today and she told me what to look for. I will keep a close eye on them. thanks

It may even be they try to hiss and or meow.

Another similiar guess is they do flemen, ie take in scents to the Jacobsen device which is inside mouth.
