He is 16 weeks old and teehing but when hes on my lap asleep and yawns his breath stinks....is this normal. His teeth arent black or rotten and he eats kibble/ wet food. Advice plz xx
Kitten's bad breath is proably due to teething. Once the adult's teeth emerges, it should be gone. But just keep tab on the teething process as he'll be doing quite a bit of chewing on stuffs during teething times. You might find one or two or more of his baby teeth lying around.
By around 7 months old, his adult teeth are all in.
Now is actually a good time to start your kitten on tooth brushing to prevent dental issues and bad breath in the future
Use only pet toothpaste and a small pet toothbrush or figner brush. Most pet stores have these. Zooplus.uk is a good online place in Europe to buy pet supplies if your local pet stores don't have much dental care products. Dry food doesn't do anything for dental health as many vets believe.
I do want to do toothbrushiing however hes not very tollerant of being overly touched or handled in unagreeable situations not chosen by him if that makes sense lol ive just tried to give him a worming tsblet disguised in chicken an he was very wide ate the chicken an spat out the tablet. Im hopeless at handling him due to fear of being hurt or attacked by him :-/ xxx advice here very welcome x
