Almost 3 weeks ago, I helped to rescue two feral kittens that showed up on someones porch. They were extremely thin and it was obvious they hadnt seen their mother for several days. They were about 5 weeks old. Two girls, weighing only 16 and 13oz. The one girl whom I call Pixie, had a half sized tail with a kink at the end.
As of today, they have both doubled their weight. They have been slow to socialize but will now climb onto my lap for scratches and cuddles.
Today, Id been out all day and when I came home, I noticed Pixie was very quiet. When I went to pick her up she seemed to curl up and shake. She seemed to be in pain in her hind end. I put her on the floor to watch her walk and she was def limping in behind taking small steps. When she tried to climb the climber to get to her favourite sleeping spot, her hind end was too weak to grab, so she just hung there as her sister was trying NOT to help lol.
So, after some thought, this is behaviour I have seen before. I always put it down to her being afraid. ( the shaking and the curling)
Does anyone know if there could a spinal or pelvic deformity that would be causing this..
Her sister is normal and is very active. That said, Pixie is usually very active too but seems to tire faster than her sister Poppy.
Im think an xray is in order
