I feed him every two hours. I give ine serving of formula. I yry to hige jom a syringe of water. Trying to keep him hydrated and maybe get rid if any toxins.
I talk to him and he responds. He has the cutest little face.
From my calculations, if he is one pound at 4 weeks old, he needs 128 mLs of formula each 24 hours. At 12 feedings every 2 hours, he needs about 10-11 mLs at each feeding. Given slowly, of course, so he does not aspirate into his lungs.
If you are unable to feed every 2 hours during the night, give him more every 4 hours. He should not go 8 hours without food. And you still must feed him on his tummy with his head propped up for proper swallowing.
What a precious angel he is! [emoji]128149[/emoji]
I feed him by syringe and i also give him water. He's set up in my sons room. I try ti get him yoneat a little every hour.
I went in to feed him and my son said he crawled off his bed/heating pad.
And so he put him back and the kitten stood in his legs.
He tried himdelf out he wasn't interested in eating
My son said 6he the kitten crawled off his bed and went a couple feet to the wall. He also had a poop.
He is pretty tired now i could only get a few drops of formula into him.
Going to cuddle him abd let him rest then try to feed him.
He seems a little different. I can't put my finger on what exactly 7d different.
I wonder if the vet you saw can write a script for phenobarb? I don't know how big kitties have to be to take phenobarb but surely the dose can be adjusted IF it's appropriate in this case. I have had one kitty who started having seizures a few years ago. Finally got him on the right dose and now he's ok. Poor little fella! Your video just broke my heart. He has such a sweet voice.
I think it's important that the kitten not be too tired to eat his regular meals. He needs the nutrition to grow and to get well. He might tank if he does not get his fluids.
I also worry if crawling off the bed is a good thing or not right now.
If you think of how he seems different, please let us know.
The last time i fed him his little legs were going. He seems to he trying to move. I'll feed him again and keep him calm give him a rub down he loves that.
He seems quiter. And tired.
So he would need a xray on his head?
That would show all the damage to his brain and ears and the seizures.
Any medication he can have would improve him. At least take away any pain he may have.
He is a sweet guy. I had a siamese who talked to me like him.
I wish i got video of him before his accident.
I wondered about that when he began to get quiet and refuse food.
I'm so sorry. I know it is heartbreaking, but he is at peace and out of pain now. You truly did all you could to give him comfort. He was loved! RIP over the Rainbow Bridge, little one! [emoji]128149[/emoji][emoji]128149[/emoji]
I think i knew that. I just pushed that thought away.
I'm so heart broken. I checked on him before i went to Pick up my daughter. I kissed him and told him i loved him and we would eat and cuddle when i came back.
You did the very best you could for him, and now you'll do the very best you can for the rest of the family. So sorry for your loss. How are mom and the other babies?
