I think I have to agree because someone gave me a 6 month old kitten who had fleas really bad and really bad ears. I used dawn dish soap ohim and rinsed him off, he had a couple later and several times giving him a bath with dawn dish soap, he is a lot better but I need help with his ears. Any suggestions?

Kitten with fleas and bad ears

Best let a veterinarian take care of the ear problem.
What your cat probably has is the obvious fleas and possibly ear mites.
Best thing you can do is take the cat to the vet and have them check the ear gunk using a microscope to confirm if it's mites or not. If it is they will probably give the cat Milbemite.
I had the same problem when I got my kitten - Fleas and really bad ears, aka ear mites. The meds he was on were Milbemite, Capstar, and Revolution.
