My 3 month old kitten got her first vaccine last week and she felt soo dorwzy and she kept meowing after it and she also got a fever. So I took her to the vet and they gave her a steroids shot to ease the pain. Ever since they gave her the shot she started drinking so much water. Are they related? Or should I get her checked again?

The fever could cause her to drink more too. It is not uncommon for them to have adverse reactions like this, definitely bring it up next time and they can switch brands, or kinds and watch her. As long as she is slowly getting back to being herself, and it could take up to 3-4 days, she will be fine. Vaccinations rev up the immune system, just like they do in people, bringing on fevers, lethargy, and chills.

Increased thirst (and appetite) is one of the most common side effects of prednisolone in cats - don’t worry, it’s normal and will wear off soon! It can make the body retain more salt which then makes the brain say “too salty! Need more water!”
