I have three new kittens- found them at about 8-9 weeks. Failed foster- I'm keeping them all! All three were spayed/neutered around 10-11 weeks. When the little boy came home, he had a rough time with swelling and with the after effects of anethesia and was so afraid of us. That was two weeks ago. We have made improvements, but he's stll timid- and he was so outgoing before surgery. Anyway, he also started sneezing once home. No eye discharge, no nasal discharge. Eats and uses the litter box fine. Plays with his sisters. Seems ok other than he's still timid and sneezes often and his two littermates have never sneezed and my two older cats have not either. I need to take them in to the discount clinic (no well check, just does spay/neuter and vaccines) for distemper and rabies this week (they were too young at time of spay/neutering). Should I take him to my regular vet first? Can he get the vaccines if he's sneezing? Everything I've looked up says watch the eye and nasal discharge, but there is none? Any advise? Of course I'll tke him to the vet if necessary, but the $$$ with three unexpected kittens for all they have needed so far has added up and funds are tight.
