Kitten Needs Help

So we have a kitten it's 8 weeks old, got it when it was way to young. From a farm, mother didn't care for them anymore, and they didn't wanted them gone. She was doing well. Playfull, eating drinking, climbing around getting into mischief... like a kitten does. Well then we live in put us under a water advisory because of e-coli. The kitten had drank water before we knew this. Now she doesn't eat, or drink. My wife took her to a vet they couldn't do a blood test because she was so thin. They have us an IV bag with needle. Done it a couple times, not to easy though. Seen on one site that none broth, and hard boiled egg is good. I was up every 2 hour with the broth. She seems to be holding that down, any other suggestions would be great

If you suspect e-coli infection get the kitten on antibiotics immediately.
Keep well hydrated, it will take a good 48 hours before the antibiotic starts to show it's working.
