and she will probably not think a thing about it once she learns. You might try a cat carrier, and put a small tupperware type bowl that covers about 1/3 to 1/2 of the carrier bottom with her litter in it, and let her out into the bathroom to eat and play, and then back in to go potty with you there with her to reassure her. Then work her up to going without you when she masters that, then just the litter box in the bathroom, etc. Then she'll learn to go find the box herself, or she will have to be with it uncovered (when she is starting in the cat carrier). But she is quite young and still learning- you just don't want her to learn to holler for you to come running with the box when she needs to go
-when she's 3, it won't be cute.
I think anyone who is a mom knows about this

One of the important things about toxoplasmosis that has not been said before is that the poo / litter tray need cleaned more than every 24 hours, as that is how long it takes for it to really become a problem. Not that you cannot catch it before then, but the chances are much lower.

How big is your litter box? With a kitten that tiny, you may need to get a really small one for a while. It is overwhelming for them to climb into an adult sized box. You can get some disposable ones pretty cheaply. Also, it may be the litter. I would set up several boxes and try a few types of litter and see if she prefers one over the other.

She really is too young to be away from her momma and part of the problem is probably it is a really LONG way to the litter box from her perspective, kwim.

Another thing is to get an enzyme cleaner to really get the smell out of where she has been going. The reason she is going back there, or one of the reasons, is because she can smell her scent. You have to erase the scent.

You also might try to limit her to certain rooms until she really gets the hang of the litter box and knowing her way around. And I agree with the others, you need to take some precautions when dealing with the litter box. Get yourself a box of disposable gloves and use them every time you deal with the litter box. Also, talk to you ob/gyn about any other precautions you can take to protect your baby. Good luck! We had a kitten and it was only 7 weeks and had been a barn cat. He caught on to the litter box pretty quickly, but still had plenty of accidents. It just takes time and patience. It's too late now, but you might have wanted to wait a bit to get a kitten until after the baby was born and a bit bigger. YOu are going to be one busy woman when junior gets here!
