Hi
We are new here and we kind of freaked out and posted a concern before we even came to introduce ourselves here to the site
SO let's get us on here
We found tiny Kittee in our wheelbarrow in the garage in the early morning a week ago.
(the story is here and long so if you want to skip go to end of story
)
BEGIN STORY
The night before my husband was walking into the garage and was surprised to see the neighborhood cat in our garage. We see her around a lot but never has she come into our garage. He shoo'd the cat away because he was closing the garage door for the night, and we have 3 doggies that live with us.
When my children and I woke the next morning, we were getting ready to walk our dogs and when we headed out to the garage we heard mewing.
My daughter heard it first and initially we thought it was outside the garage window.
But the longer we listened, we knew a kitty was IN the garage.
We began to follow the mewing and sure enough in the back corner of our garage, in our wheelbarrow full of drop cloths (my husband does interior painting on the side) there was tiny Kittee
Long story short we called our vet and the vet encouraged us to put kitty back and wait for mama to come. We did this periodically thu the day and then left her there for 3 hours in the night and Mama never came.
We were having storms that weekend, and we have yet to see this mama kitty around.
We were seeing her daily until this night.
Now we no longer see her AT ALL
SO we took Kittee in and have been nursing her and loving her everyday since.
Using Kitty Glop we found here at Catsite! THANK YOU! Our vet loved it too!
END of STORY
Took her to the vet.
Vet says she is a girl and she weighs 5oz-is about 3 weeks old- no bugs on her. Gave us wormer and said come back in a month if we want to keep her.
We are naming her Kittee as we are kinda fostering to own at this point as like we mentioned earlier we have 3 fur kids that are doggies and we are not sure how this will work out.
AND not to mention my husband has a cat allergy so we are also worried about this.
But we AND my husband, want to care for Kittee until she is able to go potty herself and feed herself.
We would feel terrible to adopt her on this tiny.
Vet said to maybe make her an outside cat, but not sure if we have the heart to do that.
My sister in law said they may be able to take her too, but she does not want Kittee either at this young(she works outside the home and has three kids).
SO we will see.
I am secretly hoping that all will be will with our dogs (we are being SUPER SAFE/TAKING PRECAUTIONS do not worry).
I have NO idea how to introduce dogs and cats but I think our dogs are already getting introduced by Kittee just being in the house and seeing us hold her/feed her ectera.
Fingers crossed!!
