Mosi is a pet quality red somali (his main "fault" is his profile - too straight). By red I mean what you in the US would call orange - ruddy, sorrel and red being 3 different colours over here - I think Kingston is what we call sorrel. He's 16 months old now.Originally Posted by Panther pride

I was wondering what to expect during the first year as far as devlopment goes I know these cars are slow to mature. Artshow a cattery, in iowa, I'm instrested in buying from this July has three male Ruddy kits, one is already asighed a new home, another the breeder wants to keep as show or breeder and the third he says I can have good deal or no?
Also how does this breed act during the first year, like a kitten, I heard they never outgrow the stage.
Mosi is still very kittenish and is still growing. He's grown about an inch and a half taller since xmas. He's calmed down a bit but he's still all about pouncing on toes and wanting to play all the time! Somalis can be quite demanding, wanting to be involved in whatever you're doing and don't like being ignored. Getting washed and brusing teeth in a morning can be quite a challenge with Mosi perched on the edge of the wash basin! It's only been in the past month or so that Mosi has stopped waking me during the night for play.
Sorry for hijacking Kingstons thread!
