Kidney disease - what to expect and when to know it is time?

Thank you, I am going to speak with her about the fluids. I think that is a great Idea. Did you have any problems with food pickiness? It is so hard to get him to eat, he appears excited to see food and then I put the food in front of him and he walks away.
I have a 16 year old that has some kidney issues and I am now giving her fluids daily, she is a patient thankfully and while i have never had to give a needle to an animal before I guess I am doing correctly she never cries out or really even flinches. I have seen her energy come back more, she is eating and using her litterbox regularly. I just want to make sure that she has quality of life and so far with the fluids that is what I am seeing she is jumping up into the window more and roaming all around the house especially in the evening and even playing a bit with me with her toys.
