Just heard from our coordinator that two of our kitties are coming back.
This time it's two Katrina survivors - littermates Johnny and Daisy (both tuxedos) that were rescued in New Orleans after the hurricane. Millie brought them back with her after spending a week in the area working with Alley Cat Allies. Johnny and Daisy were adopted into what we thought was a committed, responsible home. Now, it's the same old story. She's moving and can't take the cats. I'm so tired of hearing this. At least she contacted us, rather than dumping them at a shelter. But, that doesn't excuse her lack of responsibility. After all they've been through, these two deserve better. Please send some vibes/prayers their way.
This is just the latest in what seems to be a string of negative situations involving some of our cats. Maybe we need to be screening potential adopters better. We usually end up with great homes but, after this, I'm really starting to lose faith in people.
