Dear The Cat Site Forum,
Here is a recent article on Houston Chronicle depicting the continual suffering of animals after Katrina.

Please help out the animals by donating any of your unused or half-used pet supplies to animal shelters still housing Katrina evacuees.
As the puppy and kitten season approaches, it will only be more difficult for the Katrina animals to be adopted. The Katrina animals cannot win in a competition against cute, cuddly, and highly adoptable young animals.
A lot of those animals are still abandoned by their owners whose temporary housing would not allow pets. So even though their owners have been identified, the animals still do not fare any better.
The plight of those animals are despiccable. People believe that since it has been so long that the problem had corrected itself, but it had not.
Now the animals are beginning to show certain behavior problems from being caged so long. The longer they wait, the more unadoptable they become.
Please help out in whatever ways you can. Please help out by donating your unused shoeboxes and pet supplies to your local cat shelters. Please click on the animalrescue website icon more often. Please donate your unused and half-used pet supplies. Please go adopt more Katrina animals from your local shelter.
