we have a 4 month old kitten, Nikitti. He has been de-sexed and with us since he was about 7 weeks old. From the first night he came home he as slept in the bathroom - for ease of cleaning up messes. There he has stayed as he gets very active at night and runs around, jumps on the bed and wakes us etc. I read here on the forum that if you kept your cat restricted at night for a while, they would develop sleeping habits more like our own, and happily sleep in the night and play in the day. We have 3 children who like to play with him in the day, but he just wants to sleep then, even though he can do much in the bathroom at night. I have tried playing with him before bed time to tire him out but it doesn't make any difference. when he goes into the bathroom, he cried for about 2 minutes and then we don't hear from him until morning when someone gets up and opens the door - he doesn't even meow to get out in the morning which is great, but I'd love to not have to put him in there at all! Any ideas? Or is this how it will be for ever? My daughter would love him to sleep on her bed, and some evenings he will lie there with her for a while and then goes nuts, or other times he just goes nuts from the beginning, biting (not too hard, just that 'come on, get up and play with me' sort of stuff, but enough to stop her from going to sleep).
