G'day everyone
Obviously I'm a new kid on the block so I'm not yet familiar with the way things are done here - I must apologise in advance for any ignorance.
On previous forums I have frequented, the polite thing to do was to say hallo first and foremost. So yep, hi there everyone!
I write to you from South East Australia from the island state, Tasmania. I grew up in rural Tasmania and recently moved to the city for my education.
I'm an animal lover and in my second year of a zoology major (I'm still considering doing veterinary science after I graduate this degree).
I grew up with a cat my mum 'rescued' as a kitten when I was a young child. Her name is Miffy (yes, after the bunny from the kid's tv show ) and at 18 she is getting on in her years. However, at her last vet appointment the vet was very impressed with her health - so hopefully she has a little while yet!
More recently my partner and our two housemates decided we would like to adopt a cat or some kittens. After a few weeks of some serious decision making and preparation we began visiting our local cat rescue centre. We initially wanted to adopt an older cat (or two) but unfortunately there were few cats to choose from and they were not what we were looking for. We tried for a few weeks but eventually decided that kittens would probably be the most suitable, given that we wanted friendly, well socialized cats.
This brings me to where I am now, writing to you about the two little boys we adopted. They are now 9 weeks old, both are moggies - one is tabby and white and the other ginger and white. They are very adorable, I shall post pictures later if/when I am able!
Sorry about the essay everyone, thanks for bearing with me!
Cheers,
Lauren
p.s. please don't hesitate to tell me if I am doing anything wrong - I really appreciate being given advice.
