Sometimes cats can have behavior patterns that are easily recognized. One of these is their use of the litter box. I only use one litter box for my two cats. Yes, I keep it very clean. One day DW asked me how I was going to know "who was doing what" in the litter box, using only one box. Well, as it turned out, Persi just goes in and leaves everything laying on the top of the sand whereas Alley digs very deep and leaves everything on the very bottom of the box and covers everything up extremely well.
Last night when we went to bed, I asked DW where Alley was. She did not know and was about to conk out with Ambien. I am on crutches right now so I did not want to go looking for her.
So, this morning arrives and I went in to clean out the litter box. And right away I noticed that Alley had not used the litter box. Persi was watching me as he always does and I told him that "we must have a cat locked in the closet somewhere". So we started opening doors and when we got to the office, Persi started trying to reach under the closet door. I knew what I was going to find: One very upset Alley, who took off like a streak of lightning and headed straight for the litter box!!
