I know some of us likely have dogs and cats, so it never hurts to just be aware some strange stuff is out there and to be wary and protective of our companions.

Not a problem. In the dog world this is currently a huge cause for concern and dog owners should be aware of it.

yeah, I am in Texas, so not in the list, but I want to be careful, especially since my dogs and cats mix (not all of them, but about half). No idea if they can get it, but better to be safe than sorry.

The Los Angeles Department of Public Health put out a warning last week, so it pays to be careful.

That's terrible. I haven't had a dog in years, but it makes me sad to see this. I appreciate the share.

So far, it hasn't hit our area but we're remaining very cautious. We are closing down for 2 weeks in January anyway, so I'm sort of glad at least until we know exactly all the ways this disease can spread.
