Stumpy turns 17 in a few weeks. Not only did his pass his physical exam with flying colors, the vet thinks he looks better than he has in years, he's gained another 1/2 pound (good for his chronic medical problems), and the 2 newer vet techs wouldn't believe me when I told them he was 17 years old. He doesn't look a day past 12 right now!
He strutted around the vet's office, sniffing everything, rubbing his face on all the counters (always wants everyone to know who is the boss), asked me to pick him up to watch the dogs out in the lobby while we were waiting, and just made himself at home. Muddy was with us today, and even though Muddy is normally at odds with Stumpy, he kept running up to Stumpy for comfort. Stumpy (good boy) licked his head to calm him down.
It's getting close to 6 years when we discovered his auto-immune disease that we didn't think he could recover from. He lost all of his teeth in the process (another reason we are glad to see him continue to gain weight). The old boy is still feisty! Man, I love that cat!!
