Dr. Richard Speck - Parkway Veterinary Clinic,
Illinois
Richard received his Doctor of Veterinary Medical
Degree (DVM) from Iowa State College of Veterinary
Medicine in 1982 following two years of service in the
Army and an undergrad degree in microbiology. Richard
has owned a private practice for nearly 24 years until
joining the Animal Protective League of Springfield to
start a high volume S/N clinic.
Sandra K.L. Norman, DVM - Indiana State Board of
Animal Health, Companion Animal/Equine Director
Sandra holds a BS in Agriculture (1977) and Doctor of
Veterinary Medical Degree (DVM) in 1980 from Purdue
University. After graduation, she worked companion
animal and equine medicine and surgery at Whiteland
Animal Clinic along with relief work at several
clinics in the Indianapolis area. She was an associate
at South 31 Veterinary Clinic and then co-owner and
operator of Southwest Veterinary Clinic. In 1995 she
joined the Board of Animal Health as Director of the
Companion Animal/Equine Division.
Ledy VanKavage. – ASPCA, Midwest Government Affairs
Director
Ledy graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a
B.S. in zoology and attended graduate school at
Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in
environmental studies, before going to St. Louis
University and earning her J.D. She founded the
Madison County Humane Society, co-founded the Illinois
Federation of Humane Societies and co-founder of
Operation SPOT (Stop Pet Overpopulation Today) in the
St. Louis metropolitan area. Ledy joined the ASPCA in
1999 and serves as the Senior Director of Legal
Training and Legislation.
Lisa Tudor – IndyFeral, President
Lisa attended Ball State University, B.S.
Telecommunications/Marketing, graduating in 1984. She
was the Manager of Operations for Nobel of Indiana
(social service agency) from 1988 through 2005. She
founded IndyFeral, Inc. in 2002 in Indianapolis,
Indiana. Since then she has not only overseen all
operations of IndyFeral and created a successful
program for feral cats in Indianapolis, she has also
worked closely with Animal Care and Control to help
author the TNR Ordinance for Marion County, Indiana
and lobbied key members of the City Council
encouraging them to vote in favor of the ordinance.
Katie Sweeny – City of Indianapolis, Indiana Animal
Control Officer
Becky Robinson - Alley Cat Allies, National Director
Becky has worked in the animal protection field for 23
years. She co-founded ACA in 1990 and has consulted
with animal control agencies, animal rescue groups,
humane societies, local governments, and individuals
worldwide on implementing innovative solutions for the
overpopulation crisis of domestic animals. Ms.
Robinson established two spay/neuter clinics for stray
and feral cats in the Washington, DC area, in 1994 and
1998, and continues to coordinate their activity.
Ms. Robinson received her Master in Public
Administration from the University of Missouri, Kansas
City, in 1987, and B.A in Social Work from Bethany
College in 1979. She has been trained and certified
by the National Animal Control Association (NACA).
