I woke up one morning about two/three weeks ago and all my joints hurt. Not my knuckles so much as the first and middle joints, my wrists, my elbows, my toes, my knees. I snap, crackle and pop like a bowl of rice krispies.
My muscles ached like I had the flu. But I wasn't nauseous, had no fever, no lymph swelling or soreness. I went to make some breakfast, and could barely get out of bed. My neck is KILLING me.
I was exhausted. I've had no energy. All I want to do is sleep.
And I cannot open jars. I couldn't open an open jar of mayonnaise LOL, and forget about the childproof pill bottles!
As a few other things crept up, I decided I actually needed to go see a doctor.
I did that this morning. She had lyme disease. She said that even without the telltale rash, it sounds very much like that's what I've got. She saw no point in testing for it - they're not reliable, and if it came up negative, there are so many other tick borne diseases cropping up around here, it could just be a different infection.
I'm not aware of having been bitten by a tick, but I've had plenty of them on me. Not embedded - but crawling on me. We're in a very rural area with a lot of deer and other wildlife, and I've been trapping feral cats.
So I'm on doxycycline for a month. Hopefully this will help - or we have to start searching for other answers.
