I'm so sorry. I lost mine about the same time. I like to think between bouts of tears and regrets for not noticing sooner his distress, that he was waiting
as long as he could because there was a new body waiting for him, for his spirt to go to. He knew that kitten was being born, and it was his time to
breath his spirit into this new body, and begin again his journey on this earth.... and if there is some great angel watching over me - that little kitten with Diablo's spirit will enter my life, and let me know he is re-born to
walk with me...
Its a fantasy, but it keeps me feeling less sad. I know it was his
time, it just was hard to let go. I have trouble doing that
letting go.
But I celebrate his life with me, as you do your beloved Poopsie.
He touched alot of people, and cats! Of my ferals here, the tamed them I believe by example. He was guide cat to Frogita and tamed her for me showing her that petting was good!, he was comforter to Sheba at the end of her life, he was instructor to Frodo the semi feral on becoming tame and trusting me to pick him up and handle him by example.. and he let Goose know he was boss cat right up to the end!
Those who were feral in my house, learned from him to be more tame
and trusting. I look now for another cat that I can raise with that same
trusting spirit and loyal bond. Patient disposition and steady temperment,
and willingness to let me do thing to him.. he put up with alot at the end.
Thank you all for the kind words and gifts. I love you guys.
I'm hanging in there, of course some moments are harder than others. I'm waiting for him to come visit me but I figure he's probably partying down at the RB.
DH and I are living with his Grandma and she has two cats. One of them is black and white like my Popsie boy and he's really taken a liking to me. This helps with the loss of my boy a bit. No other cat will ever replace my crazy guy though.
I hope it's getting easier as time passes. Your signature is a fitting tribute to your beautiful boy! I bet Grandma's cat knows you have a space to fill and is trying to help ease you pain. Perhaps he's already come (by way of this other kitty) and you just haven't caught on yet.
I'm only a call away if you wanna chat!
Popsie, Keep and eye on your mommy. She misses you. We all do! And remember to send her a new kitty to love when she's ready.
