I am sorry to hear about Blade, Franny really hated it  for the week I tried to get the food/meds into her mouth.  And Monday when it just became to stressful thats when I said this is the last day I do this.  I think it will be better to pts and hold her hand through this than let her die alone in the closet that is next to my bed.  I just pray she will pass on her own today and I don't have to inject her.  I just can't take this it's breaking my heart.   She is not in pain, she is just shutting down.
I saw your other post; so sorry to hear that your Franny has gone.  But I'm sure you did the right thing for her.

On the plus side, we tried Blade on some chicken last night and he ate all of it (very quickly LOL) which means he got the Pred dose.  And he's been eating on and off today :)   But as he's a picky munchkin, we can't guarantee that he'll continue to eat it so he's going up to the vet later today for an injection.  He's been much brighter again today though he's currently asleep on top of the snake tanks, where I can't reach - so I'm not sure how I will retrieve him to take him to the vet - I suspect more chicken might be involved!

Before you take the diagnosis as a death sentence, let me share a story about my friend's kitty. Her kitty grew a tumor on his side. She went to the vet and was told "Kitty has cancer. Treatment will cost several thousand dollars with no guarantee, or you can opt for humane euthanasia to spare Kitty the pain if you can't afford treatment."

My friend could not afford the treatment, but she was not ready to say goodbye right then. She went home with Kitty planning to keep Kitty comfortable until comfort ran out.

A few weeks later she invited me to play high stakes bingo with her at a nearby casino. We went and had a blast, but she did not win several thousand dollars.

We went back to her house and when we went inside we saw this hair covered lump on the kitchen floor. As we sat there wondering "***?" Kitty sauntered on into the room to say "hello" as he routinely did. We looked at the hairy lump on the floor again and then back at Kitty. Kitty no longer had a patch of fur missing where the tumor was, but no tumor.

My friend picked up the hairy lump and returned to her vet with tumor-less Kitty. The vet had no explanation and called it a miracle. Maybe it was.

I am not suggesting you sit and wait with your kitty if your kitty is suffering. I am only telling you this because my friend almost euthanized her dear Kitty just because she thought it was her only option.

I hope your kitty is comfortable and I encourage you to all you can for your little friend, but do not give up. Miracles can happen.

Wow, a miracle indeed. :) amazing for your friend!

Blade is now much brighter, I've just been to grab a drink and he has tried to trip me three times and is demanding his chicken!! Whatever the steroid injection it appears to have made him feel better so in himself he is much happier :) obviously overall prognosis is not good but while he's happy we'll continue treatment.

At least his appetite is back despite the boiling hot weather (def not used to it here!!!!) - he is in the kitchen and is now requesting loudly that we feed him :)
