Is your old cat still playful?

My friend will be 17 this spring and seems to have passed the age of playing.

For example, I would shake some string in front of him and he'd be "Oh, a string..."

whereas a coupla years before, he'd at least try to bite it.

Although last summer, he did catch a small bird.

Is your old cat as playful as a kitten?

Oh yes, all the seniors I've been honored to be with, had these bursts of "kittenhood" at least three times a week like dashing around the house, jumping on furniture and the successful "hunts" in the yard. I think if they weren't burdened with the physical limitations of old age, cats would be forever playful.
