That is TOO COOL! Do the videos have bird/squirrel, etc. sounds too?Originally Posted by KTLynn
I haven't bought these particular videos, but I purchased a very similar one called "Video Catnip" years ago. The cats love it! My oldest is a little jaded now and watches it only a bit since she seems to know she can't actually catch the birds and squirrels she sees! I also bought a DVD, "The Kitty Show Video Toy" which shows fluttering moths and insects. Not as big a hit as the "catnip" video, but one of my cats is partial to bugs and can't get enough of it. It's a hoot watching the cats watching these videos! Perfect for a snowy day like today...
Another feline Teletubbies freak! I can't believe it. When Jamie was a kitten, he watched the Teletubbies every day, and seemed to know it was "time" for his show. I always thought it was the bunnies that attracted him. I taped "Walking with Dinosaurs" for him, because that was/is another favorite.Originally Posted by imogen
I had one cat who would jump up and watch if I was flipping through channels and found an animal documentary. Her brother would come running to the tv if I flipped past...Teletubbies! (No joke.) He'd watch the whole show!
It seems to me that it depends on your cat. My kitten may be interested in it, my boyfriend's cats not so much. My question is if they are not interested in the tv without the video, then why would they be interested when the video's on. You could get the same affect by letting them look outside, or turning on a nature show. I wouldn't waste your money.Originally Posted by Rockcat
Has anyone purchased this? I'm curious if it really works. If it does, its a lot easier than rearranging the furniture to entertain them.
Well, Oliver & Tri are indoor-only apartment kitties. The videos sound like great birthday gifts!!! Thanks for the info!Originally Posted by KTLynn
Hi Rockcat - Yes, the videos come complete with nature sounds - birds chirping, squirrels nibbling on nuts, etc. The videos get most cats' attention because they zero in on the animals/birds - the camera follows the movement and along with the audio, it's pretty irresistable to most cats. My cats aren't much interested in regular TV (with the exception of nature programs and sports like basketball!) but the videos grab them every time. I've had the "Video Catnip" for years now, and it's been well worth the $16 for the entertainment it's provided. It's especially great for indoor-only kitties, and cats who live in apartments.
