We introduced a new kitten, Galileo to our family about a week ago. Our resident cat, Remy is two years old and has been an only child. We've so far done everything right, separate rooms, feeding behind screens, introducing with a crate, feeding side by side, playing with toys near each other, etc. (I could go on!) Our resident cat typically seems disinterested in the kitten but the kitten is often attempting to engage him in play then gets scared when Remy plays back. Sometimes he gets bushy tailed, ear go back, etc. Then Remy leaves him alone and Galileo goes right back to him! Claws aren't retracted or anything. Or they playing or fighting? Also, we keep them seperate for most of the day except for times of play and feeding. They're always supervised.

P.S our resident cat has a calming collar but the reviews said sometimes it irritates their skin so we wrapped frabric around it.

P.S.S I apologized for all the unfolded laundry - it's that time of the week! Haha

um, yeah that's play. Not even rough play. Wait till they figure each other out and run full speed chasing each other.
If there no hissing or growling it's ok.
