Some of you may already know that my 1 1/2 year old cat was diagnosed with disk disease the other week. He is not aloud to jump, climb or rough-house anymore. I feel kind of bad for him and I know he gets lonely when I'm not around. I'm also expecting my first child in a month and a half, and I'm worried that he'll feel left out.
I have been thinking about getting him a companion. He loves my sister's cat, but unfortunately won't be able to see her anymore since he's not aloud to play. I was thinking that it might be a good idea to get another cat (preferably a little older) that is either blind, or has difficulty walking as well. This way Zorro will have a companion for when I'm not around, and the new cat won't encourage him to play either.
Does anyone think this is a good idea, or should I just leave him as the only cat. (He is used to other cats, and while it does take him some time to get used to them, it appears as if he likes their company) Where would I possibly go about getting a cat like this?
