I was just sitting in the recliner reading, with all three kittens in my lap, grooming each other and cat napping. When I got up, moving the kitties off my lap, I noticed a small something laying in the chair. I thought it was just some fuzz off their new cat condo, so I picked it up to throw in the trash. But when I did I realized it was hard. On closer examination, I saw that it was a tiny tooth! Of course, I had to know whose tooth I was holding, so I looked in everybody's mouth...they were thrilled, I'm sure! It was Maggie--she's missing her bottom right "canine" (which seems like a misnomer for a cat tooth!) The kittens are just turning 5 months old this week, so I guess they are just about the right age to begin to lose their baby teeth. But I really didn't expect to actually see any of the teeth that fall out since I read somewhere that they usually end up swallowing them with their food. So now I'm wondering what on earth the kitty tooth fairy would bring...hmmm...
