You wait till you are sure momma wont do it. Its important there is no blood flowing longer, so its another reason its good to wait. The only exception is if the cord is wired around the neck of the kitten, and may suffocate it. Or something similiar.Hey guys, my cat is getting close to delivery and I'm trying to make sure I'm prepared for anything that can happen. I've read that in some cases you have to intervene and cut the umbilical cord, can someone please talk me through the steps of doing this properly? I'm hoping I won't need to, I just want to make sure I know how if necessary. Thanks so much!
You really need to readjust her and set her up in a better way asap. You also need to make sure that all of the kittens are ok. Wait until mom comes out to use the litter box and then act quickly.I haven't been able to do it, thankfully no one is in a position where they can be squished and mom cat is pretty tiny herself...but I don't think I can easily lay the case flat with her inside, I need to be able to lay a towel at the back and keep the clothes from falling on the little ones. My sister would really like to get her clothes out lol
Yes that's what I'm waiting for! She should be using the liter box soon, I can easily see her and the babies and they are all doing very well. She's never seemed this happy before. What would be the best and safest way to pick up and move the kittens? I have a better box preparedYou really need to readjust her and set her up in a better way asap. How many are there? If she wants to stay in the suitcase, I would try to make that safe for her by lying it down on its back.Yes that's what I'm waiting for! They are much better, still in the suitcase but now set up more comfortably and I've been able to change out the bedding. She seems so happy thank you for asking!@Amadahy
