Hey everyone! So, my situation is as follows.
I have 6 cats (3 adults, 3 8-month old kittens) and soon I'll be travelling to another country for university. I should be back in around 4 months time. Since I lived alone here, there'll be no one to take care of my cats and I know someone very trustworthy who boards cats, who is able to provide two rooms (3 cats each) for them to stay in.
The room size itself isn't too big or too small, probably a regular-sized room. There are pillows, open cages, a big window overlooking outside, shelves installed, tables etc including all the toys I can afford to get them! The woman keeping them agreed to spend a couple of hours a day with them to keep them entertained etc, as they are extremely affectionate cats.
My question is, is this okay for them? Will they get depressed in such a small space? They're indoor cats anyway, but are usually in a large apartment and are able to run around etc. Can staying in one room for a few months affect them negatively on the long-term?
NB. It's worth mentioning I left them before with the same woman for about 2.5 months, and they seemed fine after, although when I brought them back home they seemed to have gone slightly quiter and calmer. Can anyone give any insight as to whether keeping them in 1 room for a few months will be too inhumane for them?
Thank you
