I got my kitten spayed August 18th it is now August 23rd but do the stitches look infected? I have never had to spay a cat before so I am not sure if it looks infected it seems more red to me than usual but she is eating and drinking the same and it doesnt seem like it hurts her but im not sure. She did get out of her E collar the first day but we immediately put it back on so im not sure if it was caused from that.

I think it does look a bit red for 5 days after surgery, so you probably would be wise to either phone your vet, or email them a pic.

In the meantime, this TCS article has pics of both normal and infected spay incisions, and I think you'll see your girl's does look much more red than the normal incisions. But again, best to check with your vet.

Hi

Keep taking pictures of her so you can see how things change. Since you're thinking it seems more red than it was a couple days ago, I would send these photos to the vet, as mentioned, if they allow that, and see what they say.
