Hi, I really need help. My cat "cow" (see profile picture) has had a reoccurring stye her whole life. A few years ago, she broke it open and ever since then it will scab over and because she cleans herself, it will break open again. I just went to the vet today and they recommend that we keep her in a e-collar (cone) until we get the results back for her surgery. Yes, they would like to give her surgery to remove the stye. She's ten years old, and my best friend, and I just can't even imagine living without her. She's helped me through everything. Anyways, I know that anesthesia in older cats is risky and I don't know if I should follow through with the surgery. While having surgery may improve her quality of life, I may also end it and that's the last thing I want. Just thinking about it makes me extremely upset. I'm just so torn and don't know what to do. Anyone please help, it is greatly appreciated.
