Is Kitty dying, rat people?

Most rats only live 2 to 4 years of age. 

Do not split her up from anyone. Rats are social, you'll only speed up the dying process. 

Oops, didn't realize this was old. In fact, why did this pop up on my feed? Weird.

It does sound like she's just aging. Feed her a higher protein food. Throw in some fried egg and meat (without fat).
Don't separate her. That will only depress them both and it could cause the older one to get worse. Rats can live as little as one year or as long as seven years.
