I brought a stray cat in to my house to have her kittens. The kittens are now 19 days old. Last weekend, the mother cat stopped eating, so I took her in to the vet. He said that there was nothing wrong with her to explain why she wasn't eating. He also let me know that she was not producing any milk. Until she quit producing milk, the babies were very fat. I have been bottle feeding them for the last three days. She has still been "nursing" them and taking care of them, even though she doesn't have any milk. Yesterday, her appetite came back, and she has been eating a lot. Today, when I went in to get them when it was time for their next feeding, their bellies look full. And they did not want to eat. Is it possible that she is producing milk again? I don't feel any milk, but maybe, she is producing some? I don't want them to go hungry, but I don't want to feed them if they are full. Thanks in advance for your replies.
