Is it bad to take spaying stitches out late?

Obvious, but if you've never removed sutures it bears repeating. Remember that stitches have a knot. Once cut, you need to grab the knot and pull so the cut end of the suture slips out. If you grab the cut end and tug on it the stitch will not pull through.

Hello! How do your take them out yourself? My cat just got surgery he didn't need due to a misdiagnosis so I am not on good terms with that vet and am never going back to that animal clinic. Also how do you tell if the stitching is dissolvable or need to be removed?
