Is it bad to bargain shop for gifts?

i agree - if i were the recipient, i would rather get more stuff because of your bargain shopping!

I'd call it smart, rather than tacky. I'm doing the same thing - looking for suitable items for next Christmas. Why pay too much, and have to worry about delivery periods, when you can get "perfect gifts" now, and ship them in plenty of time?

I think bargain shopping is great. I shop all year round for Christmas - just one problem - I forget about stuff that I've bought or where I stored it and find it the following July (after I've had to run out and get something else for that person for Christmas). I declare that when our basement is finished I'm going to have a special storage place just for bargain presents.

I have to bargain shop .. it enables me sometimes to get a gift at all.. other times I get what I want for the person
