My cat had a yellow liquid leak from his butt earlier. He was scootching it too. I switched his food from Hill's Science Diet to Ziwi Peak about a month ago. Would food sensitivity set in this late? Or was the yellow liquid caused by something else?

Might be anal gland fluid. would be worth having a checkup so he can be looked over and have them emptied if needed.

It might be anal gland secretions, but they are usually very smelly and a bit darker in color. You might call your vet and ask if they want to see your cat or if there is a way for you to 'collect' some (maybe on a cotton ball or swabs) and bring it to them to take a look. If you go the latter route, and they agree to check the fluid out, make sure you ask them if you need to keep it refrigerated before you get it to them - in case they want to do any testing on it. It might take you gathering it more than once, so ask the vet about how much to collect.
