Barely the start of hurricane season, and look here... National Hurricane Center .
My sister's beach house (I keep talking about it in all these wedding threads
) got badly torn up by Ivan... and here comes Dennis, taking aim at us again. My sister lives in Pensacola, and we live in the Western panhandle, so depending on what Dennis does once in the gulf, he could have either of us. I'm kinda scared for what this year is shaping up to... this area's about due, we've not been affected for years (apparently, I've only lived here for 3 years).
A direct hit could mean we'd have to move into our office-building-decided-shelter, with 10 birds and two cats... especially worrisome for Dennis because Holly just got spayed today and she's not in any mood to be hauled across town. The homesite isn't prepared... a bunch of oak trees in the front yard, no generator, no window AC to plug into one. We passed on the hurricane supply tax break because at the same time I was having major, expensive dental work and didn't want to shell out that much at once.
Any other Floridians especially nervous this year??
