but the sensitivity of the touch screen has been significantly improved (and is even better running windows 7 vs vista) since then...

Lol, I doubt that exists, it would be nice though...

It's called "textplus"

It's a free app, and you get an account, then take the numbers from the people on your contact list and send them a text! If they want to send one to you, they put in the number"60611" and put your username as the message. Then it'll send them a message saying reply with the message for you

The only fall back- it only works with wifi.
One good thing- there's no long distance charges
